Juwel 240 Orinoco project – Part 1

I can’t remember exactly what made me start; I imagine it was a nice, sunny day (one of the few so far this summer) and I must have decided to spend more time outside, perhaps reading a book (rather than watching a movie) this year. Anyway, my projects have a slight tendency (!) to get interrupted because I stumble across something more interesting, another project, while I’m working on them. After maybe 15 minutes I had more or less stopped work and was instead considering if I should do something fun with my old Juwel Rio 125 liter aquarium that was currently being used for, well nothing really, it was just standing in a corner on my porch, filled with random garbage. Lighting, heater and filter was nowhere to be found, I would have thrown them away years ago, but the tank itself still looked like it could be used for something. I cleaned it out, took it inside and placed it on it’s cabinet, which I have been using as part furniture, part as a stand for other things over the years. I then proceeded to google and read all I could about what kind of life would suit this rather small aquarium.
